Hi – We’re Matthew and Zach, creators and founders of Safe Treats. We, along with two other of our siblings, were all born with life threatening food allergies. Among us we are severely allergic to dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and sunflower. We have a hard enough time as it is choosing benign food for our home, but not having access to safe food would make our situation near impossible. Improving that access to all who need it is what brought us to create SafeTreats.org. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this issue, imagine a family afflicted with food allergies shows up at their local food pantry in need of food and nothing is safe to eat; an already stressful, demoralizing situation turned dangerous. This underserved problem extends beyond our backyard and has become one of global proportions. To help address this need, we have created SafeTreats.org , a platform offering allergy-friendly snack boxes for purchase for yourself or someone you know who would appreciate it. A portion of funds collected will be used to supply allergy-friendly food to our local food pantry with the hopes of alleviating some stress for families and shedding light on what has become a daily obstacle for so many. There is also a button to strictly donate, if you prefer. One hundred percent of straight donations will be used to buy food.
